Doctor Hánsel Frómeta Hernández, Head of the National Ozone Therapy Program, reported ((January 15, 2024) that in 2023 Venezuela had “118 facilities” to apply ozone therapy as a complementary therapy, “distributed in the 24 States”, where “around 60 thousand consultations” were carried out. with more than 300 thousand treatments.” https://www.cmhw.icrt.cu/internacionales/programa-de-ozonoterapia-en-venezuela-la-ciencia-cubana-por-la-vida-audio

The ozone therapy program “was born in 2020 with the start of the COVID pandemic,” with “rectal insufflation therapy.” However, says Dr. Hánsel Frómeta Hernández, it has begun to be applied in other pathologies, in accordance with the Madrid Declaration on Ozone Therapy, “and this has caused us to increase the range of treatment to combat various diseases, with the consequent improvement in the health of the Venezuelan people.”

For this reason, at the end of 2023, Dr. Frómeta pointed out, “bag inflation for patients with Diabetic Foot” was already being practiced, in addition, “infiltrative techniques of paravertebral ozone and intra-articular ozone to treat different pathologies in the joints.”

“By 2024 we intend to link up with other specialties, increase consultations for Diabetic Foot patients in all States, increase statistics and open a greater number of services in order to achieve better care for the Venezuelan population.”

Madrid Declaration on Ozone Therapy

The Madrid Declaration on Ozone Therapy serves as a source of guidance and reference for all health professionals in the world who practice ozone therapy. As each edition has been translated into more than 10 languages, its content is closer to those who practice ozone therapy. https://isco3.org/

Under the direction of Dr. Adriana Schwartz, current president of ISCO3 (International Scientific Committee of Ozone Therapy), the 1st. edition was published in 2010 and since then it has been updated, with the active participation of many ozone therapists around the world, every five years: 2nd. edition in 2015, and the 3rd. edition in 2020. ISCO3, depositary of the Declaration, will launch the new edition in 2025.

Each edition summarizes scientific research carried out in different countries and is the result of many years of experience and clinical practice.
